MSIX was announced by Microsoft last year as a technology to replace the MSI, allowing applications to be “Modernized”. MSIX is a multi-year effort and the first versions are available now. In January, I published the first “Report Card” on MSIX, a comprehensive look at the state of MSIX for Developers, Tool Vendors, and IT Professionals. In this session, Tim Mangan will explain MSIX, review the report, and update with the latest developments on MSIX.

Tim Mangan is the owner of TMurgent Technologies, a company focused on helping companies with application deployments. He is also a con-founder of VirtG and serves as the group’s Vice President. A long-time Microsoft MVP, he is also recognized by Citrix as a “CTP Fellow”, a distinction held by only four others world-wide. He also runs the local Citrix User Group in the Boston area. And just for kicks, last summer he developed the first MSIX based application approved for distribution in the Windows Store.
